2.0 What Data do we collect
PocketNews is a News aggregator application inclusive of multiple categories for our users to read every day, in order to assist them in developing a good reading habit and earn money while reading.
This Privacy Policy describes how Pocket News collects, uses, protects and shares information about you, which is obtained when you are accessing and using the PocketNews mobile application (“App”) or website (“Website”) and using our services of earning money by reading articles and performing tasks listed and displayed on the App (“Services”); This Privacy Policy also applies to information that you share surrounding any user support or feedback activity via email, telephone and otherwise.

2.1 When you register with PocketNews service (or login by using third party of account authority from Google, Email or Facebook account), we will collect your region, nickname, profile picture, and mobile phone number in order to assist you with completing PocketNews registration and to protect your PocketNews account security. If you do not provide such information, you may not be able to use our services properly.

2.2 When you use PocketNews service, in order to ensure the normal use of our services, to maintain the normal operation of our services, and to optimize and improve our services and protect the safety of your account, we will collect information about your device model, operating system, unique device identifier, login IP address, PocketNews version number, access network mode , type and status, the quality of your network, equipment accelerators (such as gravity sensing equipment), operation logs, service logs (such as the information you browse on PocketNews, or the information about service failure, referrer URLs etc.) and other log information. Such information is required to provide you with PocketNews service and is basic information which must be collected.

2.3 When you agree to the PocketNews “Privacy Policy” to use the ‘withdraw cash’ function. According to the developing condition of payment solutions from different regions, we probably need to collect your payment receiving information Inclusive of your name, bank account name and number, mobile phone number, email and PayPal ID and etc. Rejecting to provide such information may result in you being unable to use the PocketNews ‘withdraw cash’ service, but does not affect your normal use of PocketNews other functions.

2.4 When you use PocketNews with other interoperable software or hardware, providers of such software or hardware can, with your consent, obtain relevant information that you actively disclose or transmit on PocketNews. You should fully understand product features and information protection policy of other software or hardware before granting your consent.

In addition, in accordance with relevant laws and regulations and national standards, in the following circumstances, we may collect and process your relevant personal information without asking for your consent:

1) When it is directly related to national interests such as national security and national defense, or it is directly related to major public interests such as public safety, public health, and public knowledge;

2) When it is directly related to a criminal investigation, prosecution, trial or execution of judgments;

3) In order to protect vital legitimate interests of you or of other individuals, such as right of life, property, and reputation, while it’s hardly to obtain the consent of the individual;

4) When the personal information is disclosed to the public by yourself;

5) When the personal information is collected from legally publicly disclosed information, such as legitimate content reports, government information disclosure, etc.;

6) When it is necessary for entering into and/or performance of a contract to which you are the party;

7) When it is necessary for maintenance of the safe and stable operation of the products or services provided, such as discovering malfunctions and/or troubleshooting products or services;

8) When it is necessary for legitimate content reporting;

9) When it is necessary for conducting statistical or academic research which is for public interest, and when the results of academic research or description are provided externally, the personal information contained is de-identified.

10) Other circumstances as stipulated by laws and regulations.

Please understand that the functions and services we provide to you are constantly updated and developed. If a function or service is not in the above description and your information is collected, we will explain to you the type of information, the scope and the purpose of the information collection by means of page prompts, interactive processes, website announcements or other ways, to obtain your consent.

Please note that at present, PocketNews will not actively obtain your personal information from a third party outside of PocketNews. In the event that we need to obtain your personal information indirectly from a third party for future business developments, we will inform the source, type and scope of the use of your personal information to you prior to obtaining such information. For example, where PocketNews requires to process personal information for a specific development which is beyond the scope of what you originally agreed to provide to a third party, we will obtain your prior express consent before processing your personal information; In addition, we will strictly abide by the relevant laws and regulations, and require that third parties guarantee the legitimacy of the information provided.

We will act in accordance with laws and regulations and store personal information collected within the territory in local.

In general, we will only keep your personal information for the time necessary to achieve a specific purpose, for example:

Email Address: When you use PocketNews service, we will need to store your email address to ensure your normal use of the service; when you delete your PocketNews account, we will delete the corresponding information;

We strive to secure users’ information to prevent information leakage, improper use, unauthorized access or disclosure.

We will use a variety of security measures to ensure the security of information within reasonable security standards. For example, we will use encryption technology (for example, SSL), data anonymization and other means to protect your personal information.

We have set up specialized management systems, processes and organizations to ensure the security of information. For example, we strictly limit the range of people who may access such information and require them to comply with the confidentiality obligations and conduct audits.

In the case of information leakage or other incidents involving information security, we will initiate contingency plans to prevent the widespread of security incidents and inform you in the form of push notifications and announcements.

5.0 How we try to make PocketNews even better
We use analytics services as described in Sections 3.1, 3.2 and 3.3 of this Privacy Policy that help us understand how PocketNews is being used. We handle all information in compliance with the applicable law of your jurisdiction, with the European GDPR as overall guideline. For European users, terms such as “personal data,” “processing,” “pseudonymisation,” “profiling,” “controller,” “processor” as well as any other terms according to §4 GDPR have the same meaning as defined in the GDPR.
5.1 Usage Information
We collect information about your activity on our services, for instance how you use them (such as frequency, duration of usage, app crashes, features you’ve been using, advertising that you click on). We may use information collected by certain features for our other services. For example, we may use the information we collect when you use one of our features, and provide you with specific content in another service, including, but not limited to ads, information security tips for content you have read, indirect crowd portraits based on feature tags, and providing more accurate and personalized services and content.

In order to ensure the security of our services, and to enable us to better understand the operations of our applications, we may record information such as your frequency of using our applications, crash logs, overall usage, performance data, and the sources that apps are installed from. We will not combine the information stored in the analytics software with any personally identifiable information you provide in the application.

Where we utilize your personal information beyond the scope of our collection statement or a direct or reasonable connection, we will inform you and obtain your prior express consent again before using your personal information in such situations.
5.2 Device information
We collect information from and about the device(s) you use to access our services, including:
hardware and software information such as IP address, device ID and type, device-specific and apps settings and characteristics, app crashes, app version, app name, type of user (pro/free), advertising IDs (such as Google’s AdvertisingID of which are randomly generated numbers that you can reset by going into your device’s settings), browser type, version and language, operating system, time zones, identifiers associated with cookies or other technologies that may uniquely identify your device or browser (e.g., IMEI/UDID and MAC address).

5.6 E-Mail & Support:
The only situation we may get access to your personal identifiable information (PII) is when you personally decide to email us your feedback or to provide us with a bug report. The PII we may get from you in that situation are strictly limited to your name, email address and the contents of your response only. In the above situation, we guarantee that your PII will only be used for contacting you and improving our services. We will never use such information (e.g. your name and email address) for any other purposes, such as to further market our products, or to disclose your personal information to a third party for commercial gains.

5.7 Retargeting (Ads)
You might see marketing messages (ads) on the platforms listed below, if you give us your explicit consent to share your advertising identifier (GAID) with those platforms. In addition, other users who have similar characteristics to you on those platforms could see marketing messages on those platforms as well (i.e. Facebook Lookalike audience). As described in Sections 4.0 of this Privacy Policy an opt-out is possible at any time in your privacy settings. It may take a few days after the opt-out until you are removed from all audiences. 6.0 Cookies and other similar data collection technologies
As described in Sections 3.0 of this Privacy Policy, we sometimes work with third parties to deliver ads or offers. Sometimes we or these third parties do so through a mobile “SDK.” The SDK is a bit of computer code that app developers can include in their apps to enable data to be collected and ads to be shown. We may use this and similar technology to deliver certain advertising through mobile applications and browsers based on data associated with your mobile device, and we may work with third parties who likewise embed their SDKs into our services, for third party advertising. If you’d like to opt-out from having ads tailored to you in this way on your mobile device, please follow the instructions below.

7.0 Third Parties
When sharing data with processors or third parties in the course of our data processing, transmit data to them or similarly grant them access to the data, this only happens on the basis of our given consent, following §28 GDPR or if otherwise required by law.
PocketNews uses the service of the payment service provider PayPal, which is operated by PayPal, PayPal (Europe) S.à r.l. & Cie, S.C.A., 5th floor, 22-24 Boulevard Royal, L-2449, Luxembourg (hereinafter collectively “PayPal”) to process payments after the user performed one or multiple tasks on the App. When using PayPal for payout in the App, personal data (in particular data concerning your PayPal account) is transmitted to PayPal. PayPal may also collect personal information. PayPal is the only party responsible for the processing of these data. The use of the PayPal service is fully subject to PayPal’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Use: https://www.paypal.com/de/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=p/gen/ua/policy_privacyoutside. Your contracts with PayPal are completely independent of your legal agreement with PocketNews.

8.0 Children’s Privacy
Our services are intended for general audiences over the age of 13 years old. We do not knowingly collect information from children under the age of 13 years old. If you are not over 13 years old then DO NOT DOWNLOAD OR USE THE SERVICES.

9.0 Changes to this Private Policy
We may revise this Guideline in due course. In the event where the terms of this Guideline are amended, we will show you amended Private Policies way of push notifications and/or pop-up windows when you log in or when the APP version has been updated. Please note that we will follow the updated Private Policies to collect, use and store your personal information only after you have tapped on the consent button in the pop-up window. We encourage you to periodically visit this page for the latest information on our privacy practices. User acknowledges and agrees that it is his/her responsibility to review this Policy periodically and become aware of modifications.

10. Your Rights
During your course of using PocketNews, in order to provide you with an easier way to access, change, delete your personal information while ensuring you with the right to withdraw your consent regarding the use of personal information and the right to cancel your account, we have provided you with the applicable function when designing the product.

We may revise this Guideline in due course. In the event where the terms of this Guideline are amended, we will show you amended Guidelines by way of push notifications and/or pop-up windows when you log in or when the App version has been updated. Please note that we will follow the updated Guideline to collect, use and store your personal information only after you have tapped on the consent button in the pop-up window.
